I must say that I am truly excited about this year’s Final Four. To clear things up, I got UConn winning it all, however, the Florida teams in the finals would be exciting to watch because that game would break the internet. Interestingly enough the former Head Coach of George Mason, Jim Larrañaga, is the current coach for the University of Miami. No surprise he was able to get the Canes to that point. After coaching at Mason for 14 years, his overall record was 273-164 with the Patriots. Larrañaga has many titles but the one I like is him being the “Most winningest head coach” in Patriots men’s basketball history. This weekend will be very exciting. All month has been as a matter of fact.

March Madness has opened opportunities for me to work closely with athletes competing in the tournament. During spring break, I had the opportunity to work for UMD Athletics where I was in charge of credentials and distributing game stats. Despite not getting paid for what I did, I was able to make exceptional connections and gain more experience working with communication professionals in sports. I will be sure to tune in this weekend for the biggest event in college basketball regardless of how my bracket turned out.
