I can’t express how pleasing it is to see two Black quarterbacks go head-to-head in the Super Bowl, the biggest event in professional football. This time, it wasn’t only their passing abilities that got them to the finals but also their football intellect. February 12 will be a historical showdown at the State Farm Stadium in Arizona, where fans of the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles will unite to witness the abundance of the two most talented teams of professional football.
The game of football continues to amaze me day by day. What I value about football the most is how it unites people of different backgrounds and cultures. When this sport was founded, it wasn’t always this way. The evolution of football welcomed players of all backgrounds and nationalities. Super Bowl LVII will display how Black quarterbacks in the NFL persevered through envy and doubt. I can’t wait!
